Con't Journal Notes....Hurricane Wilma

They are becoming unusable globs of wax.I still have plenty of batteries,my headset is becoming an attachment you don't see me without.

US 1 is still closed and only emergency vehicles are allowed in to the Keys.

I am burning a mix of insense oils.Comforting aroma's of sage, ylang Ylang and lavendar.

Persons stop and stand in front of my windows just to take in the essence waifing into the night air.

If by chance I am not able too relocate this year or evacuate for any new storms I have a NEW updated survival list....
1.A indestructible shake flashlight
2..Instant coffee.
3.A small charcoal grill
4.A gas operated cooker
5.Weather radio
6.small ice filled chest that will fit in my freezer
7.Tea candles (Alot)

The front parking area is still flooded.I had to drive through a foot of water today and it was nasty.

The city will take weeks to clean and clear.

Maybe Fantasy Fest will be in November, who cares, the City does.

(Note)

Resheduled for December 7th - 12th.
What are they thinking?
That is Pearl Harbor Day.

I have much empathy for those that have lost so much.
I feel even more NOW, I felt such pain for the Katrina population that was abandoned during and after the storm.
All the animals that suffered also.
Unconscionable is the Word.

Last evening I read a chapter from the "Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield.
Sis Polly asked me to do that.
It is our gift to pass this knowledge on to those who have a open heart, a open ear to listen and understand.
A new world is upon us, it is breathing steady and it's breathe is getting stronger.

The fishing industry after four blows is all but wiped out.

I took a cute picture today of a little girl doing her part. She was sweeping the sidewalk.
I thought about the quote that says~

If each of us sweeps in front of our own steps, the whole world would be clean.

-- Goethe

I have started a new book "We Were the Mulvaney's" by Joyce Carol Oates.
A awesome book and a great movie rental.

Until the sun rises again on ole Key West Adious and all of that.

UPDATE~
Phones are ON.

Now they are off again...

October 26th 2005

Last night I rigged electric off the back outlet. There were emergency outside lights working so I used the outlet in back of the apartment. I ran about 7 feet of extension cords.

Light,radio fridge,coffee maker,fan....just the basics :)

Slept like a queen.

Up at 10 am-rode into town.Still a mess, most businesses closed including Publix where boats had floated the day before.

Went too the fish house.Looks like a deserted boat yard.

Cool shower,shampoo.

Many have lost there cars, the bus system will start tomorrow.

I am going back to work at the Deli Thursday and Friday night. For this blessing I am so very thankful.

The park is Now open with Red Cross relief. Hot meals served at noon and 5 PM.

It is a lovely day. Temps in the high 70's. Jacket weather I love it.

The lines at the HUB were so long and I was running on fumes.

No Gas anywhere.

Walked to the HUB in Stock Island and got some cold meals to go. They were awesome. Tuna (ready to eat) crackers, cookies, chips, apple sauce, water.

Still no (Legal) electric NOR phone but I am happy this day.

I survived.

I am a survivor.
