| Video Card Woes |
| Video Card Monitor has lines and shadows,all I did was set the screensaver to blank last night.Now the lines are here.Unplugged and replugged monitor.Ran scan and defrag and spybot and the VS,nada is showing up.Oh my,another monitor or could it be the display video card???Even did 2 system restores? 4:17 AM 9/21/2003 beats me,have tried everything and still have shadows and lines. 5:52 AM 9/21/2003 all night and still have the problem,made a bitmap black with grid and still shadows gray and horizontal lines,I am shutting her down and going to bed with my Purrby,he just left and it is pouring rain.This is a bitch with these ucking futs. 4:14 PM 9/21/2003 still working on monitor.Left a request in smart computing...#300238 my number:) The bands are still playing.After the blank screensaver setting this started.I checked and unplugged cables and reconnected them.they were not bent or anything like that.Was fine before the screensaver change. 10:00 PM 9/21/2003 Retrace lines visible. Adjustment of the brightness and contrast controls will usually fix this problem. However, if it persists and no combination of these controls will give satisfactory results, then locate the "black level" potentiometer, which is probably set too high, and adjust it accordingly. 2:25 AM 9/22/2003 darn lines will not go away no matter what I do.Now for the cleanup again after the restore back to last Sunday.I changed downloads to ask permission before doing. 2:49 AM 9/22/2003 Took out the advance NVadia,don't use it,also the compaq info cause I have belsar.When I restarted it said new hardware was found,NVADIA,it loaded and the lines and shadows are still with me. 3:41 AM 9/22/2003 the pit 364 very good gurl 3:52 AM 9/22/2003 oh I am going to bed.I changed the window 2 black with gray font and it takes the glare of the lines away, 3:56 AM 9/22/2003 changed it to gray with black,better. 1:24 PM 9/22/2003 The same thing is going on,no change 1:41 PM 9/22/2003 changed back colors to more pleasing to thy eye,but the shadows follow me as sure as the sun comes up and the moon glows in the night 8:27 PM 9/23/2003 took the monitor in and they hooked it up,it is not the monitor.Windows XP looked great on t.Went to RS and checked the chairs,didn't like them.Pawned my jewerlry and went to the computer doc.$75 for visit,85 for video card and another 128 in memory bringing me to 312 will cost me around $300.Tomorrow I may just unplug and take ME tothe PC doc.she said 48 hours and ready to go. 3:46 PM 9/24/2003 took the casing off,finally got the memory installed it is showing 320.I do have 4 PCI slots and a AGP Graphics card,also the 3-D Now.The AGP Card supports 2 and 4 X AGP cards.So off I go now to buy it and put it in. 7:57 PM 9/24/2003 all fixed,I did it.New memory,new graphics card (E-G-FORCE 4 MX440 8 X) ,with a bit of help from Dear John. I had it all finished but it kept defaulting back to the old graphic generic card that came preinstalled.Not a bit of info with the card,no dirctions at all.Saved over $125.00..Also dust busted the entire case,will put panel back on now. |

You may still have a problem with the Red X's if you still have the Hotbar plug -in for Outlook. |

| It shows some samples of the application so you have an idea what it is and what it does and can do. Remember Green is safe to delete they are usage tracks Black..that is the color you have to be careful with BLACK~.be careful unless you know you have uninstalled or it says unknown path or missing dll or something like that.This is your registry that HOLDS on to these things even after you uninstall programs properly,so TREAD WISELY RED is Spyware and it will already be checked for you to safely rid your machine of nasty parasites that lurk about. Take your time,read and absorb,if you are not sure about something LEAVE IT~ On the side of the application after you have done a through scan,you can just check for spyware if you so choose the NEXT time you run it. In the settings I checked everything to be initially scanned,I had tons of registry obsoletes as I have installed and uninstalled quite the lot...I don't do that much anymore:) Take your time,do not be intimidated by this metal apparatus. |
