Adorable "MINNIE~TAYA"

Minnie~Taya's adoption picture is what led me too her at the shelter in Key West,Fl.

She is 5 months old here.

I brought her home yesterday the 6th of January. She is now 11 months 3 weeks.She is so sweet.A bit finicky until she gets used to her new and strange surroundings.She mostly hides under my big bed.I am giving her all the time she needs and being loving and patient with her.She has put much joy into my saddened heart since Purrby died November 7th 2003.

4:21 PM 1/6/2004
Taya is home,her seed for grass is planted in two containers and sitting in a sunny window waiting to sprout for her.She is hiding under the bed since we got home at 3 PM.First stop out of the carrier was the post,then under the end table.I picked her up and brought her in here to the litter box,placed catnip around certain area's and off she runs under the bed.

Taya is still under the bed,she hides in the raftors of it.I took out all of the drawers she was sitting in under the bed.She seems scared so I will leave her for awhile.I even played the mellow Kapha music and also the kitty tape.She hasn't budged.I hope when we sleep we don't crush her.Of course I think tonight she will begin her investigation of her new surroundings.I think everything is cat proofed,could be wrong tho.

TAYA came out and looked around,we played catch the beam and the birds sounded off and she ran back under the bed.She has already found a few Purrby markings and researched them dilgently.She is like a little tiger.I am sweating and feel very dizzy.I am glad dinner is ready.

Taya slept under the bed all night.She has not eaten or drank water,therefore hopefully she hasn't went too the bathroom.Her litter box has not been used in any case.She is playful in the morning and likes to jump up on hind legs and butts my head.She comes out when I call her and just as soon as she jumps high on the bed she goes back under to her solitary world.
Elio is a bit rough with her and she is scared of him.His loud coughs and noises(farts)send her off under the bed.I told him she is a baby very unlike Purrby who liked to rough house.Taya has kiss bit me twice but I don't want her to make a habit of that.She does not seem to be a biter.Her food was in the living room but now she will eat in the bedroom where she feels safe.

Earlier she had great fun in the litter box,did both her duties and cleaned throughly.I am using the new flushable Arm and Hammer,it works great,I so wish I had kept the big box Purrby used.
She just took a few bites of her food.She still feels safe under the bed but comes out everytime I go in and call too her.She rubs all over me and head butts me and kisses me.Such a adorable furball Taya is.She loves the long mouse toy I bought especially for her.Hopefully in a few more days she will be sharing more of my home.She weighs eight pounds,she is like a feather.
It has been exactly two months today that Mister Purrby went to Rainbow Bridge.He is still here with me everywhere.

Hi Mommy,

I see that Taya is being quite shy during the day. Ah, but at night, watch out. She only wanted to see up close what was making all that racket that scared her the first few days. And then, she almost lost her manners all over the floor when upon her surprise they crashed to the floor so she could get a better look. Well, that didn't work. She says she won't do that again.
She knows what those Birdie sounds look like up close now and she doesn't have to go back and buy the "kitty t-shirt" - she's marked that one off of the "to do list"

I'm so glad that you have found a new companion. Hey..... did she like my manly smell? Yum - that cutey! I bet she is wondering where that hunk is! Well, you just tell her that I'm right there too, in fact, she sees me sometimes and it makes her feel very relaxed as she knows she has a cat-friend around to talk to.

Well Mommy, it's time to go running with the gang. Oh! the gang! They are magnificent! I miss you so much, but I know that you know I am "over your shoulder" right now. Feel me? Well, I've lost even more weight - <giggle> - actually I'm weightless! haha But, I will press down hard so you can feel me. Purrrrr in your ear, nibble your ear. I miss your finger. Boy, that sounds funny. But nobodies finger here will do. My Mommy's finger I'll never forget nor will it be replaced. Note here: I mean I miss your finger when you put good tasty stuff on it....... NOT when you were putting it up my ass, excuse me very much.

Well, you take care of yourself and please rest and PLEASE would you watch out for those cords! How many times do I have to tell you to watch where you are stepping! I'm glad you did not get hurt too bad. Purrby here kissing boo-boo. All make better.

Cycles
Warmth of life giving energy that flows as a river
Gone in a twinkling of a eye,like a imperfect storm
Never prepared
Quickly the frozen terrain
